I really enjoyed my stay in Rastel. The staff were awesome and were a huge help. Very clean showers. Facilities cleaned on daily basis. Great common area and huge kitchen with enough space for all guests food. Enjoyable place to stay and overall an excellent experience.
Nice Hostel with nice, accommodating staff. Great facilities, nice kitchen with lots of fridges, new and clean showers and toilets. Location wise it was close to city and bus stations. Secure hostel with electronic locks on the doors.
Rastel Hostel isn't especially bad given that our rooms were clean, security was on point and there were all the standard facilities you can expect in a hostel. Further, upon our arrival, we were given a map and shown all of the highlights of Budapest worth visiting, which is always very helpful. Nevertheless, the walls were thin and you could hear everything from outside, which made going to sleep hard, there was often a fair queue for the showers and/or toilets and it wasn't an especially nice place in terms of either appearance or sociability. Much of the hostel was given over to abandoned warehouses, which isn't really what you want, it wasn't an especially good place to meet people and, although friendly, the receptionist offered little when I asked for travel advice. Considering the price (it's all relative, but this is Budapest after all) I expected more. It's not in a bad location but the hostel itself is distinctly average.
This was the nicest hostel we lived in when interrailing in Europe. Not only is it located close to the city centre, but its also got really nice beds and comfort for the price. The people working there were really kind and relaxed, and offered to wash our dirty clothes for us, which really is a rare kindness that you wont find in most other hostels. All in all 5/5 would visit again.
Liked: I loved this hostel. The staff is extremely helpful, the rooms are big and they give you huge lockers. This was the perfect place to stay for the traveler looking for a unique stay in Budapest. There is a kitchen to cook in, the staff can help you with everything. Honestly I would love to go back any time!
Disliked: Customer left no negative feedback.
Liked: It was pretty quiet when I stayed there. Only 2 other people in my room the first night, none the 2nd night. They have a kitchen with all necessities to cook a meal. The young lady who runs it was very friendly and cordial. She even went over all the places to visit, even though I had a decent idea of what I wanted to see. She was very excited to share her city. That was nice to see. While a small walk to the main district, it was plenty close to get to most places. It's quaint, and good for a single traveler or a couple. Did not look into the private rooms.
Disliked: Rather non-descript. No sign, only knew what to look for because I looked it up on Google Maps before hand.
